Be Prepared for the Battle I Sam 17:32-37 The reason why David was victorious over Goliath was because he had a history of overcoming insurmountable odds. His preparation to defeat Goliath came well before Goliath decided to defy the armies of the God of Israel. David was on the backside of the wilderness tending sheep fighting off lions and bears as them came to attack his fathers livilihood. These struggles against the enemies of his life prepared him for one of his greatest triumphs. They put David in prime position to be Israels savior against the giant. Christlike huh? Not only did those battles against lions and bears put David in a position to win but they gave him the confidence that giants can be defeated.
All our struggles in life prepare us for great works. They teach us skill, endurance, tenacity, bravery, and faith. No matter what we have gone through in life it was for a reason. It may have been difficult but it help us along the way. Some of us are still in the preparation stage and we have yet to face our biggest giant. Just remember the story of David when you face giants. God can and will take all of the small battles you have won and use them to give you the confidence necessary to beat your greatest foes.
